TEACHER MENTORSHIP

Are you a 200- hour yoga teacher who recently completed your training but just aren’t quite ready, or confident enough, to take the leap and teach your first class? Or maybe you are a newer teacher seeking to add a little more depth and knowledge to your teaching?

An apprenticeship with me may be for you!

One thing was clear to me as I grew into a teacher…

I would always remain a student first. If I’m not continuously a student, I have nothing to offer as I’m teaching.

Studentship is ultimately the most important part of being an effective teacher. It’s the backbone of both my practice and my teaching. When stepping into the seat of the teacher, you must continue examining the practice as a student. Constant education and dedication to the practice are essential for growth. Not just of your own personal practice, but of your presence and impact as a teacher.

  • The mentoring I received from Kat was invaluable.

Kat is awesome in so many ways. Not only is she an amazing yoga teacher, but she will guide and mentor you wherever YOU need to go at that moment. You will have homework, deadlines, evaluations with honest feedback, so you understand the areas that need improvement. She also incorporated selfless acts of kindness and showed how important giving back to the community is. The mentoring I received from Kat was invaluable, and she holds a special place in my heart! Forever grateful!

  • I feel privileged to call Kat my mentor!

“Kat has been one of the most influential teachers on my journey to finding my own yoga practice, as well as to becoming an instructor myself. I completed a 200-hour teacher training with Kat as one of the lead instructors and then went on to complete an apprenticeship with her one-on-one. For that opportunity, I will be forever grateful! Kat helped me to develop my foundation as a teacher by skillfully passing on her knowledge of yoga, affective and authentic instruction, developing intentional and safe practices for students of all levels, and most importantly, teaching from the heart. I left the experience with a solid and supportive foundation and the confidence to “fly” on my own.

In her own classes, Kat teaches with so much authenticity - straight from the heart! She has a way of holding space for her students and connecting on a deep level all while delivering a challenging and deeply meaningful practice. As a student in MANY of her classes, I have always felt supported, safe, inspired and genuinely seen and cared for. I feel privileged to call her my mentor, and simply speaking, she’s an amazing human! I’m grateful that our paths have crossed.”

  • I highly recommend Kat as a mentor.

“Shortly following my completion of my Yoga Teacher Training, I began to practice with Kat. I quickly found myself wanting to learn as much a possible from her. If YTT is considered “undergrad”, mentorship with Kat would be considered your own “personalized graduate program”. My practice deepened quickly with the detailed attention Kat provided. Kat was willing to answer any question and to geek out about what this practice has the potential to do. Kat would consistently preach the importance of the practice for all individuals; this helped me quickly establish a deeper meaning to my teaching.

Kat demonstrates how yoga can aid in the healing process. Kat would help me see yoga in everyday life “off the mat”. Under her mentorship I was able to see how my teaching impacts communities. I highly recommend Kat as a mentor to any yoga teacher as well as seasoned vet. Hold yourself accountable to your practice and with her guidance your practice and teaching will significantly evolve.”

the program

The intimate 1:1 experience of this program will help you obtain greater insight into your teaching strengths, compassionately help you find your weak spots, and allow for you confidently step in more authentically to the studio space. Customized to meet each student's needs and requests, focuses include:

  • Healthy Alignment + Cuing

  • Safe + Intuitive Sequencing

  • Impact: Voice + Messaging

  • Music + Managing the Room

  • Assists: Hands-on + Verbal

Yoga is a life practice, not an activity. Teaching is a means of inspiring people’s lives off the mat; to ultimately help people feel better about themselves and live their

best lives.

Sure, you can teach a class that helps students simply go through the motions, but yoga is more than that. My goal is that you leave this program with more confidence and courage to bring both a smart-safe physical practice AND meaning and inspiration to your yoga classes.
